Macy's Soul Era Recap

Fringe, platforms, bold colors and prints! We are talking about my favorite fashion era! The soul era!

In celebration of Black History month (February), June Ambrose and Johnetta Boone discussed how black culture, style and art in the 60's and 70's evolved and inspired how fashion was back then and how it STILL influences how we dress today!

Both ladies highlighted how artists such as Tina Turner, Jimmy Hendrix, Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross were iconic for not only their talent, but their distinct style when it came to fashion.

My favorite part of the discussion....MENS FASHION!!!! I found that I was not the only one that had the same thought in my head. It felt so refreshing when they both asked why men these days are not adventurous and CONFIDENT with colors and prints. We understand that platforms may not be everyone's cup of tea (and may need to stay in the past for men).....BUT, understanding what works with your body and making it iconic for you!

Feel free to experience the discussion by watching bits of it below!

Enjoy!
xoxo
