Crop Top Sweatshirt

I still have a WAYS to go, but at seven months postpartum, I am loving my tiger stripes and my barely there abs in my favorite crop top sweatshirt.  (Postpartum update coming soon!)

I am stepping away from black and stocking up on all shades of reds from shirts to shoes. I also noticed my love for sweatshirts has grown again. I don't know why I have been ignoring such a great basic layering piece that can be easily dressed up with jeans or a skirt and of course, dressed down.

Still Here

Hi guys! I am still here!

I am in the midst of adjusting to my full time (remote) work schedule while caring for my little one. It's challenging but I am managing, just neglecting the blog a bit, but that will change soon! I am excited to say that I am working on a couple of projects with my knuckle headed brother this week so stay tuned for some fun new things on my Instagram (follow me at @oliviairene and Jay at @johnreasonable).

Lately I have been living in bodysuits, ribbed pants and sporting the Alicia Keys no makeup look.

Distressed Denim Dress

I have been wearing my favorite oversized denim jacket as a dress lately. Pair it with boots and you got yourself a dope little outfit. As stated in my previous post, my style has been steadily evolving into something more simplistic with a touch of edge.

Lace Bustier

My closet is currently a hot mess since I have been rummaging out clothes that no longer meet my needs. My style has dramatically evolved in such a short timespan since becoming a new mom.  I am currently loving and wearing the hell out of sexier silhouettes, lace bustiers, sheer layers, cheetah print, high waisted denim and nude pieces.

Vintage Kimono

This vintage kimono is hands down, one of my greatest and favorite finds. When I initially saw it, I didn't purchase it (so much self control right?!). But that evening, I was sweating bullets, praying that no one would discover the ornate kimono hanging on the rack at my favorite vintage thrift store Black & Brown. A few weeks later (yes, again, my self control) I saw it still hanging where I had last last left it....so, here I am with it on, it was meant to be!

Pumpkin Spice Latte & the Struggle

There has been several posts on my social media feed exclaiming excitement over the beloved coffee drink...Pumpkin Spice Latte (yes, I know, that's a cool lime refresher in my hand and NOT PSL). Whenever you hear, read or speak of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, you know one thing...fall is coming! So, with that being said....fall fashion, my favorite!!! I have been playing around with my fall clothes trying to figure out how to dress up while being practical since my clothes and spit up seem to be inseparable at the moment...oh the struggle! I started to twist up men's button up cotton shirts that are easy to clean whenever I have E's spit or something more all over my clothes (like in the top right corner photo). I have also been having a love affair with heels all over again. Yes mommies out there, I am a risk taker! I have been having many days where I am freakin exhausted. But, I swear guys. Once you slip on something that makes you feel good, your energy will suddenly change...and of course, a little caffeine in your Pumpkin Spice Latte will help give a little kick to your day too!  Oh, you can snatch up your PSL at Peet's today!!!

Black on Black

Hi guys! What a freakin week already! So if you read my last post HERE, you saw that I encouraged new mamas to dedicate at least five minutes to themselves and to dress up (if they can). I wanted to share what works for me when I want to put my best foot forward. Make it simple and mindless. Put on a dress and you will look like a million bucks no accessories needed . Since I didn't have time to do my normal make-up routine (mascara, foundation and bronzer) I went out with a naked face and swiped on dark purple lipstick, slipped on some chunky easy to walk in shoes and BAM, I transformed from looking like a zombie, to looking like a human being. Hope you are enjoying your Tuesday!

Sport Inspired Outfit

I have been feeling like Sporty Spice from the Spice Girls lately. As tempting as my Lululemon pants might sound, I will not give in! Swapping a sports bra for an asymmetrical bra underneath a crop top layered with a sporty bomber jacket. I am officially brave enough to wear heels and show off my belly button! Four Months Postpartum

I feel sexy. Stretch marks, a larger waist and all, I. feel. sexy!

The past four months have been a constant body battle! As stated in THIS POST, I would be lying if I told you I was always confident with my postpartum body.  I am still on a mission to reunite with my abs, but I am in no rush to kill myself in the gym anytime soon. Although I am slowly gaining elasticity back in my tummy area, that doesn't stop me from strategically showing off some midriff in this Bay Area heat (check out another postpartum midriff outfit HERE). I cannot wait to dive more in depth with my postpartum journey later on this week! Side note, I scored this vertical stripe skirt for twelve bucks!!!

My Old Self

 

I am almost four months postpartum and I am starting to feel like my old self again. As I gain back my energy, I make sure to take the time to workout at least twice a week. If I don't get a chance to hit the gym, I workout at home which I will get more in depth with in an upcoming post next week! 

Since I am finally coming out of my shell,  I am starting to wear items that I once had a love affair with....crop tops, tanks and curve hugging clothing. Although I still miss my pre-pregnancy waist line and abs, I am embracing my motherly curves and will continue to remind myself that it took 9 months to grow a human being and it might take 9 months for my body to recoup.

Fourth of July Bay Area Events + Weekend Wear

Summer Cleaning

What a joyous day it was to zip up one of my favorite skirts!  If you read this post, you got a glimpse of some of my struggles as a new mom. I also mentioned how I wanted to wipe out my entire closet. I was not exaggerating. Slowly but surely, I am cleaning out the racks and drawers. I don't know what sparked the flame to clear out old clothes (maybe motherhood, maybe a change of style) but damn, it feels good.
